Inventory in a snap

OutdoorXL, a large outdoor store with an assortment of over 200,000 unique items, was looking for a solution to perform inventory counts faster and more accurately. Previously, the store had to close for several days for a complete count, which caused direct revenue loss and additional personnel costs. With Beam, this is a thing of the past.

The existing ERP, Vendit, remained central for inventory and order management, but for inventory, OutdoorXL consciously chose Beam because of the possibilities for inventory counts and label printing.

Beam handles the complete RFID labeling: each item receives an RFID tag that is generated and printed from Beam. Using handheld RFID scanners, store employees can quickly inventory large volumes without manual counting or error-prone barcode scans. Counts are done in Beam and then OutdoorXL can use the results to correct inventory levels in Vendit. This gives OutdoorXL continuous access to a reliable and up-to-date inventory picture, with minimal time investment and maximum accuracy.
